The much anticipated ISS Ski and Snowboard Trip began on the crisp winter morning of February 5th as students and staff boarded the bus for the ride up to the Japan Alps.
After a couple of rest stops, the bus pulled up to a bowling alley where students enjoyed playing some arcade games before everyone was assigned a lane for some competitive bowling.
A couple of hours later students and staff checked into the Sun Valley Hotel at the Hakuba Goryu ski resort in Nagano. After getting the rental ski equipment arranged, everyone had a hearty dinner and settled in for a raucous first night in their hotel rooms.
The next two days were filled with thrills and spills on the mountain. Many ISS students were skiing for the first time while other beginners were gaining some valuable experience. Everyone had fun and the first timers learned why all ISS students speak so reverently about our annual foray to the mountains.
Students even liked the food this year, especially the chocolate fountain at dessert time.
Everyone arrived safely back in Tokyo on Thursday the 8th with plenty of memorable stories to tell.
