On March 2, our middle school students visited Noguchi Farm in Saitama.
In the morning, they made miso, a Japanese traditional seasoning made of soybeans, malted rice, and salt. After the activity, they cooked pizzas using a variety of vegetables the farmers grew and enjoyed eating them. The farmers also served strawberries grown at the farm and miso soup, which were really tasty. The students were excited to play with some animals at the petting zoo.
The lovely spring day was full of joy and appreciation of Japanese culture.
