Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Nikolai Jessen-Petersen

Mr. Nikolai Jessen-Petersen (Mr. JP) who holds a Master's degree in Education from Tsukuba University, joined TIPS in 2019 as a full-time classroom teacher. Mr. JP currently teaches EMS Science and high school literature. Outside of the academics, Mr. JP teaches ukulele and entertains us with the TIPS FM weekly broadcast. Our building is filled with laughs after his jokes at the conclusion of his radio show.

"I enjoy working at TIPS because there is a true focus on the appreciation of diversity, which I feel is important for all aspects of life. One of the things I also like is that the students are always eager to learn new things and be challenged. Both students and staff at the school are just wonderful to be around and brighten up my every day. The families of students at the school are also always supportive which makes the teachers' jobs more enjoyable as well. Thank you!"
