Washoku, the traditional dietary cultures of Japanese, has been a fascinating journey for students in the Japanese Language and Culture course since last December. As a way to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of the new one, students recently explored the world of mochi, a traditional Japanese food synonymous with New Year festivities. During class, they had the delightful opportunity to taste mochi with various toppings, including soy powder, soy sauce, red bean paste, and seaweed. The students' curiosity led them to investigate the interesting process of puffing rice cakes with heat, resulting in a delightful experience of trying new and unique flavors.
